   Rate: $21.51 - $26.94 - per AUPE Collective Agreement Local 47 Chapter 38
Position Summary:

Reporting to the Recreation Manager and the Recreation Therapists, the Recreation Therapy Assistant is responsible for implementing therapeutic recreation and life enrichment programs which meet the physical, social, emotional spiritual and intellectual need of our Residents.  The Recreation Therapy Assistant will be responsible for day-to-day preparation, implementation, documentation and evaluation of Therapy programs.  The Recreation Therapy Assistant will at all times demonstrate support of Park Place Policies and Procedures and conduct themselves in a professional manner.
Qualifications:
  • Recognized Therapy/Recreation Assistant Certificate or Diploma is an asset, but not required
  • Experience working with seniors, the disabled, or those requiring mental health support is an asset
  • Clear criminal record security clearance with vulnerable Sector included (no more than 6 months old)
  • Must be physically fit, able to be on your feet for long periods of time
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
  • Effective written and oral communication skills in the English language
  • Must be able to work independently, and as part of the interdisciplinary team
