Materials Manager
Mentor, OH area - On-site

Summary
A growing manufacturing company is seeking a Materials Manager to lead material planning, procurement execution, and supplier management for assigned product lines. This role oversees Buyer/Planner activities and ensures material availability supports production schedules and customer commitments.
Requirements
Prior experience in a procurement or supply chain role within a manufacturing experience
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field
Prior leadership or supervisory experience, including leading or supporting Buyer/Planner teams
Experience driving supplier accountability for on-time delivery and quality performance (e.g. OTD and PPM targets)
Experience monitoring and managing inventory levels to support inventory management objectives
Experience supporting supply chain productivity and continuous improvement initiatives
Experience leading cost reduction or cost avoidance projects to offset inflationary increases
Experience managing material shortages, past dues, and supply chain escalations
Experience coordinating with Manufacturing and Operations to support production schedules and job release activities
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP systems
Responsibilities
Lead Buyer/Planner activities to ensure timely procurement, planning execution, and on-time job starts
Coordinate with Manufacturing and Operations to support production schedules, job release, and shortage recovery
Monitor and drive supplier performance on delivery, quality, and responsiveness, including corrective action and recovery plans
Manage material shortages, past dues, and supply chain escalations
Monitor inventory levels and support inventory management objectives
Participate in supplier meetings and business reviews
Support supply chain productivity, continuous improvement, and cost reduction initiatives
Maintain accurate planning parameters, purchase order status, and supplier communication
