Job Summary and Qualifications

As a highly-skilled and compassionate Cath-Lab Recovery Registered Nurse will work in a fast paced 12 bed unit and is responsible for the pre and post op care of Cath and EP Lab patients. You will provide assistance with electrophysiology interventional procedures in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. This position will monitor patients during recovery from procedures including coronary angiograms, coronary ablations and pacemakers. Assists physicians with procedures including cardioversions, TEE's and loop placements. Provides patient education as necessary. You will demonstrate clinical competency, nursing judgment, teaching skills, and a commitment to providing quality patient care. You will be part of a team that pulls together to provide a quality patient care experience. We are seeking passionate individuals who are ready to take their career to the next level! 

In this role:

  • You will facilitate effective communication among departmental staff to ensure interdisciplinary and collaborative approach to patient care. 
  • You will maintain accurate, timely and compliant patient records. Completes all paperwork associated with these procedures and prepares tests for physician interpretation.
  • You will demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized and function well under stressful situations.
  • You will collaborate with fellow members of the team and orient as needed.
  • You will assist and educate patients undergoing an electrophysiology study procedure of the heart.

  • You will be able to demonstrate clinical expertise in working with electrophysiology patients during invasive diagnostic and interventional electrophysiology, and device implantation procedures.

  • You will assist the patient through all aspects of the procedure, including administration of medications, moderate sedation, hemodynamic monitoring, circulating and scrubbing during EP procedures and other procedures scheduled in our invasive procedure labs.

  • You will be responsible for helping to develop and implement systems to assure the smooth and efficient flow of patients for procedures in the Electrophysiology (EP) Lab.

Qualifications:

  • Current nursing license in good standing
  • Associate’s Degree in nursing required, bachelor’s preferred
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certified (ACLS) within six months of hire
  • Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support or obtain within 90 days of date of hire.
  • 2+ years recent Step-Down/ICU/PACU or previous Cath or EP experience required
  • 1+ years telemetry experience required
