What is a recovery aide?

Recovery Aides are support professionals who assist individuals recovering from mental health issues, substance abuse, or other challenges in rehabilitation settings. To thrive as a Recovery Aide, you need a foundational understanding of mental health or substance abuse issues, often supported by a high school diploma and relevant experience or training. Familiarity with basic electronic health record systems and crisis intervention techniques is typically required. Compassion, patience, and strong interpersonal communication are essential soft skills for building rapport with clients and supporting their recovery journey.
