Job Description and Requirements for:

Service Technician/Service Writer

Summary of responsibilities:

Service Writer: This person is responsible reviewing and recommending powersport related service work. Service Technician: This person is responsible for performing all recommended repairs. This job descriptions can be all inclusive as 1 person's responsibility depending on repair volume. You are responsible for doing this safely and responsibly. You may be required to work overtime.

Basic Employee responsibilities:

  • Arrive to work on time per your required work schedule
  • Always be courteous and respectful to fellow employees and customers
  • Company equipment must be used for company purposes only
  • Company vehicles must be operated safely and within their intended purpose
  • Dress appropriately to your particular job duties and within the parameters of our current employee manual, (No open toed shoes in warehouse)
  • Always pick up after yourself
  • Keep your work area neat and clean
  • Always ask questions if you are unsure
  • Always check in and out with your direct supervisors at the beginning and end of your daily shift

Job specific responsibilities:

  • Have a good working knowledge of computers
  • Have a good working knowledge of powersport related vehicles and their mechanical operation
  • Review units for repairs and make recommendations per established Recon Policies
  • Diagnose issues and give recommendations per established Recon Policies
  • Maintain parts and chemical inventories on request
  • Maintain part cage organization.
  • Locate and stage units for techs.
  • Locate and stage recalls for local HD dealer to complete.
  • Detail recommendations in service/repair order within AMS established Recon Policies
  • You must be able to maneuver and operate a 2-wheel motorcycle with expertise
  • You must be able to lift 75 lbs.
  • You must be able to push a rolling 900lb motorcycle with relative ease
  • Must not be sensitive to chemicals, cleaners and fuel fumes
  • As a Repair Technician, you must have your own tools, NPA will supply necessary diagnostic and specific electronic tools as needed.
  • Follow vehicle safety protocols
  • Responsible for all company equipment and tools associated with recon and service
  • Report any misuse of company tools and equipment
  • Report any violations of company and safety guidelines as discussed in annual meetings
  • Changing battery's as necessary
  • Helping unload/load vehicles as needed
