Job description

Hours: 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM.
DUTIES:
· Make rounds, perform assigned duties and complete assigned work orders on shift.
· Operate floatation as necessary
· Rotate shifts (day, swing, and graveyard) are not the norm but may be required
· Perform maintenance on machines and structures as required
· Collect samples & perform basic lab analyses; collect & enter facility operating data into reports
· Detect and analyze problems in the facility operations and then solve those problems to maintain compliance with the discharge permit
· Notify water reclamation facility Supervisor and Environmental Sustainability Manager immediately if upset conditions occur in the facility
· Maintain buildings and grounds in a clean and organized manner as required
· Complete other duties assigned by Supervisor
SKILLS:
· Ability to follow written and oral instructions with strong work ethic and attention to detail.
· Good knowledge of facility operations procedures and safety
· Ability to disassemble/repair/troubleshoot pumps, piping, gearboxes, valves, etc.
· Good background in basic math
· Ability to learn basic lab procedures
· Good computer skills and working knowledge of MS Excel
· Ability to work changing shifts. Flexibility in regard to hours and days worked.
· Ability to get along with fellow employees and contractors
· Ability to read and understand operating and maintenance instructions in equipment manuals
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Work in wet conditions/standing wastewater if needed.
· Able to work in extreme weather conditions
· Twist/bend/pull/push/lift 10-25 pounds multiple times each day and up to 450 pound barrels
· Break apart bolts and exercise valves that require 25-75 ft-lb of torque as required
EDUCATION:
· Utah Level 1 Wastewater Treatment within 1 year of hire
· High school diploma or equivalent required
· Forklift operator certification within 90 days of hire
PAY GRADE:
  • This position starts at $28.40/hr + 0.75/hr Differential
· Operators’ pay varies according to Utah wastewater certifications and ability to prove maintenance qualifications thru completion of company training program.
