Bringing Home the Dough
The Director, Project Engineering is responsible for planning, developing, and executing the capital expenditure (CapEx) program across a region of bakeries. This role provides project leadership from concept through commissioning, ensuring all projects meet budget, schedule, quality, and safety objectives.
Rising to the Challenge: Position Responsibilities
• Lead capital project development and execution across a regional network of bakeries.
• Manage annual multi-million dollar CapEx budgets
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Finance to prioritize and resource projects effectively.
• Ensure projects are delivered on-time, within budget, and in compliance with food safety and regulatory standards.
• Direct external engineering firms, contractors, and OEMs through FEL/FEED and project execution phases.
• Implement project management best practices including scope, risk, and change management.
• Provide leadership and coaching to project engineers and support staff.
• Ensure strong collaboration with bakery leadership teams to minimize operational disruption during project execution.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures (EEO, Sexual Harassment, Sarbanes - Oxley, Safety, etc.)
• Perform other duties which are deemed to be an integral part of the position, including but not limited to fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to attendance policies, and other applicable operating rules, policies, and procedures
Knead to Know: Preferred Qualifications
• Minimum of 12+ years of experience managing large capital projects in food manufacturing or industrial bakery operations
• Master's degree in Engineering or a related field preferred
• Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification preferred
• Demonstrated expertise in project controls, cost management, and scheduling
• Strong vendor and contractor management skills
• Knowledge of food safety, OSHA, and environmental compliance
Additional Ingredients: Essential Job Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field required
• Ability to travel up to 70% with some overnight travel as required
Salary Range- 130000 - 140000
