Job Summary:
Logical Systems Inc. (LSI) is a leading provider of engineering and project management services, seeking a skilled MES Software Developer. The role involves designing, building, and supporting advanced Manufacturing Execution Systems, bridging operational technology and information technology to enhance production processes.
Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, configure, and maintain MES applications supporting production execution, routing, WIP, material management, genealogy, traceability, OEE, downtime, SPC/SQC, quality, batch/recipe management, and eBR.
• Develop MES runtimes and microservices using C#, .NET Core, Java, or Python.
• Integrate MES with PLCs, DCS, SCADA, Historians, CMMS, LIMS, and ERP systems.
• Develop interfaces using OPC UA/DA, MQTT, Kafka, REST, gRPC, SQL, ETL pipelines, Unified Namespace (UNS).
• Engineer deterministic store-and-forward and guaranteed-delivery messaging patterns.
• Develop ISA-95 and/or ISA-88 aligned data models.
• Build and optimize SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Oracle schemas.
• Implement transactional logic, audit trails, and event-sourced models.
• Build UI components using React, Angular, Blazor, or MES-native UIs like Ignition Perspective or Opcenter.
• Develop real-time dashboards, HMIs, and analytics.
• Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, recipe validation, and plant-floor go-lives.
• Troubleshoot across the entire MES stack (PLC → SCADA → Messaging → MES → DB → ERP).
• Contribute to or oversee validation deliverables under GAMP5/CSA.
• Implement cybersecurity controls aligned with ISA/IEC 62443.
• Support compliance with GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, and regulated industry requirements when applicable.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on MES or manufacturing system development.
• Strong development experience with C#, .NET, Java, Python, SQL.
• OT/IT integration experience with OPC UA, MQTT, Kafka, ETLs, Unified Namespace.
• Experience with PLCs, SCADA, and historians in production environments.
