About The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer (DevOps) to join our Robotics Software team. In this role, you will partner closely with our software engineers to design, build, and execute the robust infrastructure needed to ship our robotics. 

Our environment is uniquely hybrid, leveraging cloud systems and maintaining a fleet of edge servers installed on-site at all our locations. Working collaboratively alongside our existing DevOps and Software Engineering team, you will play a key role in optimizing our hardware provisioning pipelines, our CI/CD workflows, and internal tools that keep our team productive.
 

The Impact You Will Make 

  • Partner with the software team to plan, build, and execute the cloud and edge infrastructure required to reliably deliver new features and meet business requirements.

  • Maintain and optimize our growing fleet of on-site Ubuntu edge servers, utilizing AWS ECS Anywhere, Terraform, and Ansible to ensure they stay secure, stable, and up to date.

  • Support and evolve our server provisioning pipeline, ensuring our servers are seamlessly imaged with Linux and deployed with our application stack upon installation.

  • Enhance and streamline CI/CD pipelines across our software teams, ensuring efficient testing and deployment workflows.

  • Be a collaborative technical resource to help debug complex network and application issues.

  • Design, build, and maintain developer tooling that empowers the software team to maintain high development velocity and reduce stress.

What You Bring to the Table
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or a related technical field). 

  • 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps or Systems Engineering, with a strong track record of supporting production environments.

  • Deep fluency in Linux systems paired with robust experience managing cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code.

  • Strong scripting capabilities (Bash, Python, etc) and knowledge of containerization (Docker).

  • Excellent systems-level and network troubleshooting skills, with the ability to isolate, recreate, and resolve tricky issues across networks or complex software applications.

  • A mindset for continuous improvement, the ability to teach, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

This role requires a minimum of 3 days a week in the office, with additional days as needed based on project demands.

This role is based in our Boston office in Charlestown, MA.

 Boston: $176,000 $183,500

Wonder uses geographic-specific salary structures, which means the salary offered may vary depending on where the job is located. The final salary offer will take into account various factors, such as the candidate's skills, education, training, credentials, and experience.
