The Mahwah School District is hiring substitute paraprofessionals for the 2026-2027 school year, offering flexible schedules, with the ability to choose preferred days & locations.
Position Profile:
Once Board approved, the substitute will become available to work on a substitute basis, in each of the six district schools, with a need to fill various time blocks. Duties include but are not limited to: 1:1 Student supervision, Lunch/recess supervision, Office assistance, and Classroom supervision.
Requirements:
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with students, and staff members, both verbally and in writing
  • Experience working with children
  • Must present Mantoux Tuberculin TB Test reflecting negative results
  • Must be fingerprinted via the NJDOE office of Student Protection

Please note: If you have never been fingerprinted by the NJ Office of Student protection, please upload a note/document acknowledging you will do so upon hire to fulfill the criminal history application requirement.
Hourly Rate: $18 per hour
Benefits: This is a non-benefits-eligible position and is a substitute position based on need.
