Reception Sales information

What is a reception sales?

Reception Sales typically refers to the sales activities and responsibilities handled at a business's front desk or reception area. Employees in Reception Sales greet visitors or clients, provide information about products or services, and often handle direct sales transactions or bookings. They play a key role in creating a positive first impression for the company and may also manage phone inquiries, appointment scheduling, and basic administrative tasks. Reception Sales positions are common in hotels, spas, gyms, and other service-oriented businesses where customer interaction begins at the front desk.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a reception sales professional, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Reception Sales professional, you need strong customer service abilities, sales acumen, and typically a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems, appointment scheduling software, and basic office tools is often required. Excellent communication, a friendly demeanor, and strong organizational skills help you build rapport with clients and manage multiple tasks efficiently. These skills ensure a positive customer experience, drive sales, and maintain smooth front-desk operations.

How do reception sales professionals typically balance front-desk administrative duties with sales responsibilities?

Reception Sales professionals often juggle the dual roles of managing front-desk operations—such as greeting visitors, answering calls, and scheduling appointments—while also identifying and pursuing sales opportunities. This requires strong multitasking skills, effective time management, and the ability to quickly shift focus between customer service and sales tasks. Collaboration with sales teams and clear communication are essential, as Reception Sales staff often serve as the first point of contact for potential clients and play a key role in generating leads and supporting sales processes. Successfully balancing these responsibilities can lead to increased client satisfaction and contribute to overall business growth.

Licensed estheticians are encouraged to apply. This opening begins as a part-time Reception Sales Associate position. It provides an opportunity to learn our spa, demonstrate performance, and earn consideration for future esthetician openings as business needs and positions become available.
PART-TIME | $16-$17 PER HOUR PLUS MONTHLY PERFORMANCE INCENTIVES
REQUIRED AVAILABILITY
Team members must be available for at least one Sunday per month and at least one closing shift per week. Availability for two Sundays per month and two closing shifts per week is preferred.
HOW OUR SCHEDULING WORKS
We create our schedule one month in advance. Team members submit their availability before the schedule is built, allowing us to accommodate timely requests for particular Sundays or evenings off.
Our Spa Associates share evening and weekend coverage. You will not be expected to work every Sunday or every closing shift unless you prefer those hours. This approach gives our team advance notice, provides reliable spa coverage, and avoids placing too much of the burden on any one person.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Reception Sales Associate at Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa in Destin, you will help create an exceptional guest experience while supporting membership and retail sales.
This is not simply a front-desk position. Successful Spa Associates combine hospitality, organization, and sales while consistently following Hand & Stone guest-service and operating standards.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Welcome guests and create a professional, positive first impression
• Answer phones and schedule appointments accurately
• Explain membership benefits and recommend appropriate services and products
• Follow Hand & Stone guest-service and sales protocols
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and guest-ready spa
• Work cooperatively with managers, service providers, and other Spa Associates
• Accept coaching and work toward individual and team performance goals
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
• Reliable availability for the required Sunday and closing rotation
• A genuine interest in helping and communicating with people
• Comfort discussing memberships, services, and retail products
• The ability to follow established procedures consistently
• A positive, dependable, and team-oriented approach
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Age 18 or older
WHY JOIN OUR TEAM?
• $16-$17 hourly base pay
• Monthly performance incentives
• Scheduling prepared one month in advance
• Opportunities for leadership and professional growth
• Employee discounts on services, products, and gift cards
• Structured training and ongoing coaching
• A supportive team that shares evening and weekend coverage fairly
If you are comfortable serving guests, participating in sales, and committing to our shared scheduling model, we would like to meet you.
Compensation: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
Build a career where your work matters.
