Project Coordinator

Job Summary

We are seeking a recent graduate or early-career professional (0–2 years of experience) who is interested in developing into a Project Manager to join our construction team in Naperville, IL.

The selected candidate will gain hands-on experience supporting construction projects from planning through completion. This position offers an excellent opportunity to learn project management fundamentals including estimating, scheduling, field coordination, procurement, and subcontractor management.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with day-to-day project coordination
  • Support project planning, scheduling, and tracking to ensure projects stay on schedule
  • Perform pipeline takeoffs and assist with project estimating
  • Order materials and aggregates and track deliveries to ensure timely arrival
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and equipment rentals for project needs
  • Assist with heavy equipment fleet coordination and logistics
  • Communicate with project managers and field teams regarding project status and material availability
  • Ensure crews have the tools, materials, and resources needed to meet project goals
  • Track project progress and maintain documentation related to schedules, materials, and changes
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, plans, and specifications
  • Assist with preparation of technical documentation including SOPs and project submittals
  • Maintain vendor relationships and assist with procurement activities
  • Support safety initiatives and assist with basic safety management tasks
  • Help identify and resolve project issues to keep projects moving forward
  • Support senior staff with additional tasks as needed
  • This is an in-office position with no flex or work-from-home option available

 

Qualifications

  • 0–2 years of experience in construction, engineering, or project coordination
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field preferred but not required
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and engineering plans
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Internship or work experience in construction or heavy equipment environments
  • Familiarity with equipment logistics or fleet management
  • Basic understanding of construction safety practices

  • Pay commensurate with experience and is has a range of $59,000 – $75,000
