Adjunct Environmental Science Instructor - on-ground in West Point, GA
Point University is a private liberal arts institution that educates our students within a Christian worldview, so they are equipped to take their faith into the marketplace and all of life while achieving their professional goals. We are training the next generation of Christian leaders to take the cross to more job sites, churches, industries, and nations than ever before.
Point University is seeking to hire an adjunct instructor in the College of Arts & Sciences to teach Environmental Science at its main campus in West Point, Georgia. This course is an introduction to the study of the human environment, intended for both our Biology majors and non-science majors in Point University's residential degree programs. The course includes both a lecture and an associated laboratory. Topics include general ecology, resources, pollution, and aspects of health, economics, and law as related to environmental science.
Requirements
  • A graduate degree in Environmental Science or a related science discipline is preferred; a doctoral degree is preferred. Applicants with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the subject area or significant professional experience in a relevant field may be considered.
  • Teach in-person at the main campus in West Point, Georgia
  • Prior teaching experience at collegiate level preferred
  • Effective communication skills
  • Basic computer literacy; experience with Canvas LMS a plus
