Job description

The Role

The Receiving Clerk will support the incoming freight function by reviewing bills of ladings for unloading approval and managing documentation accordingly. Communicate incoming delivery drivers, receiving associates, other departments, and leadership. This requires working with internal parties to ensure orders are received timely and routed to the respective processing areas.

The primary functions of this role, include but are not limited to:

Adhere to procedures, receives, unloads, signs for, check in, and marks for delivery, all goods / freight received by the receiving dock. Receive direction from supervisor to assign replenishments to equipment operators and assist with manual request from other departments. Arrange receiving details, keeping record of all inbound freight. Communicate effectively with guard shack or other internal parties via the radio, phone, computer, email, or in-person. Ensure emails are responded to daily. Creates and runs reports as needed. Research issues, maintain audits and ensures proper documentation is completed. General Labor duties as needed (includes but not limited to): assist with unloading freight or processing product. Support with delivering special orders from the receiving dock to departments. Cross-training in other functions/departments as needed.

Work Experience:

Experience working in receiving or dispatch is preferred.

Skills/Competencies:

  • Highly motivated, a team player and motivated self-starter
  • Attention to detail, has a sense of urgency and ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook) & WMS
  • Customer Service and clerical experience
  • Must be able to Read, Write, and Speak simple correspondence in the English Language
