Job description

Title: Reality Capture Technician
Reports to: Excon Coordinator
Location: Based in Phoenix, AZ with role being 100% travel
The Reality Capture Technician is responsible for independently conducting LiDAR scans of land and structures at client sites. This role requires prior experience with LiDAR scanning technologies, a passion for technology and learning, and a strong attention to detail to ensure accurate data collection. The Reality Capture Technician also serves as a key point of contact for clients, representing ZELUS professionally and ensuring exceptional service. All collected data will play a critical role in supporting BIM/VDC models. This role is 100% travel based with varying working hours based on client and project need.
Responsibilities:
Field Operations:
-Conduct high-precision LiDAR scans of client sites, ensuring complete and accurate data collection.
-Operate, calibrate, and maintain scanning equipment, including RTC Leica or similar.
-Perform reality capture registration and ensure high-quality processing of collected data.
-Input scans and detailed, accurate data into company systems for further modeling and analysis.
-Review scan results to confirm data integrity, accuracy, and completeness.
-Stay up to date with emerging reality capture technologies and industry advancements.
Client Interaction:
-Serve as a ZELUS representative on-site, maintaining professionalism and excellent customer service.
-Communicate effectively with clients, addressing any questions or concerns during the scanning process.
-Support the development of strong, long-term client relationships through exceptional service and technical expertise.
Technology amp; Software:
-Hands-on experience using LiDAR scanning equipment, such as RTC Leica, P40 Leica, NavVis VLX, and/or similar models.
-Preferred but not required: Experience with reality capture registration software, including Leica Register 360 or Cyclone.
Safety amp; Compliance:
-Identify and mitigate potential safety risks in the field.
-Ensure compliance with Construction OSHA 10/30 standards and project-specific safety protocols.
Qualifications:
-Minimum of one to two years of experience in LiDAR scanning and reality capture.
-Prior experience with scanners like Leica RTC, Leica P40, Faro, or similar.
-Experience working on large-scale high-tech construction sites.
-Strong attention to detail, ensuring high accuracy in scans and data processing.
-Excellent communication and customer service skills for client-facing interactions.
-Ability to work independently and problem-solve on-site.
-Passion for technology and learning, with the ability to adapt to evolving industry tools.
-OSHA 10 Construction Certification, or ability to obtain certification, within 30 days of hire.
-Experience with reality capture registration is highly desired.
-Familiarity with Leica Register 360 or Cyclone software is highly preferred.
-Clean driving record and ability to pass a background check and drug test.
Physical and Travel Requirements:
-Ability to walk, stand, and move across uneven terrain for extended periods.
-Lift and carry equipment (up to 50 lbs) regularly during field operations.
-Work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and inclement weather.
-Must be willing to travel for training purposes, or to support client sites, as necessary.
-Ability to safely drive rental vehicles to client sites.
