What is a real time power trader?

Real Time Power Traders are professionals who monitor and manage the flow of electricity on the grid in real time, ensuring that supply meets demand every minute of the day. They buy and sell electricity on short-term markets, respond quickly to changes in demand, and handle unexpected disruptions or price fluctuations. Their work is crucial for maintaining the reliability and efficiency of the electrical grid, and they often use sophisticated software and analytical tools to make split-second decisions. Real Time Power Traders typically work in control rooms for utilities, energy companies, or independent system operators.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a real time power trader?
