To thrive in real radiology, you need a solid background in human anatomy, medical imaging techniques, and a degree in radiologic technology or medicine with relevant certification (such as ARRT or board certification for radiologists). Familiarity with advanced imaging modalities (X-ray, MRI, CT, ultrasound) and proficiency in using PACS/RIS systems are standard technical requirements. Strong attention to detail, effective communication, and critical thinking skills help radiologists collaborate with healthcare teams and interpret results accurately. These competencies ensure precise diagnostics, patient safety, and smooth workflow in high-stakes healthcare environments.

What is a Real Radiology job?

A Real Radiology job typically involves working in a remote radiology setting, where radiologists or imaging professionals interpret medical images using digital platforms. These positions often focus on teleradiology, allowing radiologists to provide diagnoses from a distance for healthcare facilities worldwide. Responsibilities may include reading X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, and other imaging studies while ensuring accurate and timely reports. This type of job requires specialized training, board certification, and sometimes additional licenses depending on the region. Real Radiology jobs offer flexibility and can be performed from home or dedicated reading centers while maintaining high diagnostic standards.

Professionals in radiology often encounter challenges such as maintaining accuracy while interpreting complex imaging studies, adapting to rapidly advancing imaging technologies, and effectively managing a high caseload within fast-paced healthcare settings. Additionally, radiologists must prioritize patient safety by minimizing radiation exposure and adhering to strict regulatory protocols. Collaboration with referring physicians and providing clear, timely reports are critical for optimal patient outcomes. While these challenges can be demanding, they also provide continuous learning opportunities and contribute significantly to patient care.

Practice Description

Radiology Imaging Associates is a private, exclusively physician-owned radiology practice based in Central Florida. The group maintains on-site divisions in Ocala, Daytona, Tampa, and Stuart, Florida, as well as in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. In addition, the practice operates a dedicated teleradiology division, Select Radiology Solutions. We have our own internal nighthawk coverage of radiologists so you can rest well and offer numerous internal moonlighting opportunities so you can earn extra income if you choose. With over 200+ radiologists total, we are the optimal size for strength with agility. We own 30+ imaging centers, generating real-estate appreciation and technical fees - distinguishing us from hospital-based, professional-fee only practices.

In Ocala, we are the only large radiology group in the county, providing us leverage when negotiating with insurance companies. We serve multiple hospitals, ensuring our stability.

Our radiologists can moonlight from our vacation destination properties in Lake Tahoe (Nevada), Big Island (Hawaii), and Lake Lanier near Gainesville (Georgia). Each residence is equipped with a diagnostic workstation, facilitating work while vacationing with family. In addition, the practice maintains timeshare access at The Ritz-Carlton St. Thomas, offering further flexibility and convenience for our physicians.

Last year, our associates and partners worked 185 shifts/days, averaging close to only one weekday call and one weekend per month. With more than 14 weeks of vacation, live comfortably and travel wherever you desire.

Our diverse income streams, minimal debt load, and non-hierarchical, non-tiered partnership structure ensure our autonomy. Partners in executive roles across the age-distribution ensure our longevity. Our group is one of the few remaining true private practices. We intend to capitalize on the dissatisfaction with corporatized/private equity radiology. We have had numerous consecutive years of double-digit growth and are looking to hire sincere, hard-working radiologists to help us to expand further.

Partners and pre-partners are treated equally, we have a blinded lottery for picking vacation time, equal vacation, equal call, equal pay for moonlighting, and equal distribution of multispecialty and tumor board conferences. Unsurprisingly, we do not have a high turnover of pre-partners. We have a nominal required buy-in and do not have partnership tiers, unlike almost all other Florida groups. We strongly value workplace culture and do not support hierarchies, unequal work distribution/productivity, or cherry-picking. Vested cash balance plans and 401k profit sharing plans are provided. We offer uniform, well-compensated, 3-year partnership track positions. Other groups with shorter tracks usually have partnership tiers and are professional-fee only. Our partner compensation is boosted by owning the scanners and buildings and is significantly higher than the corporate-owned practices that litter Florida. Educational opportunities are available via University of Central Florida and Nova Southeastern University affiliations.

We currently use Fuji Synapse PACS, Agfa PACS, Powerscribe 360, and Clario smartlist manager that allows for chat messaging and case collaboration. We use RadAI to automatically generate report impressions. We have our own 24/7 in-house IT and clinical support staff utilizing physician extenders to minimize phone calls and non-clinical tasks. We have a software development team to create software in-house and license to other practices.

Location

Ocala is an affordable, family-friendly town with excellent year-round weather. The metro area has a population of 425,000+ and is growing rapidly. It is conveniently located within an hour's drive from East and West Coast beaches and just over a one-hour drive from Orlando, with the third largest airport in the country. Enjoy beautiful nature, crystal-clear rivers, fresh-water springs, outstanding golf courses, and the Horse Capital of the World . Ocala offers excellent educational opportunities, including one of Florida's top elementary schools and the neighboring top-rated University of Florida in Gainesville, FL. Luxury homes in gated communities can still be bought with one-year s partner salary.

M.D. or D.O. with residency training in Diagnostic Radiology

Completion of a one-year post-residency fellowship (preferred)
Must reside and read from within the United States (international reads not permitted)
