Job description

Direct Counsel is seeking a Real Estate Associate Attorney to join a leading Am Law firm's nationally recognized Real Estate Practice Group. This opportunity is available in the following offices:

The firm is seeking associate attorneys with 2-8 years of experience in commercial real estate transactions. This is an excellent opportunity to work on sophisticated real estate matters for a diverse client base while collaborating with an experienced national team.

Responsibilities
  • Represent clients in a broad range of commercial real estate and real estate finance transactions.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate transaction documents, including:
    • Purchase and sale agreements
    • Loan agreements
    • Leases
    • Easements
    • Licenses
    • CC&Rs
    • Development agreements
    • Property management agreements
    • Other real estate-related transactional documents
  • Handle transactions involving mixed-use, office, multifamily, retail, hospitality, resort, and other commercial properties.
  • Conduct due diligence and assist with all phases of complex real estate acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and development projects.
  • Collaborate directly with partners and clients while managing multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.
  • Mid-level and senior associates will also have opportunities to manage transactions, mentor junior attorneys, and oversee project teams.
Qualifications
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active bar membership and good standing in the jurisdiction of practice (or ability to become admitted in the office of hire).
  • 2-8 years of commercial real estate transactional experience.
  • Experience drafting and negotiating commercial real estate and financing documents.
  • Strong legal writing, communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent academic credentials and a demonstrated commitment to client service.
  • Experience with real estate development and joint venture transactions is preferred but not required.
