Real Estate / Real Estate Finance Associate Attorney

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Direct Counsel is seeking a Real Estate / Real Estate Finance Associate Attorney to join a prestigious global law firm's highly regarded Real Estate practice in Pittsburgh. This opportunity is ideal for a mid-level associate with 4–6 years of experience handling sophisticated commercial real estate and real estate finance transactions. The successful candidate will work on high-value acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, development, financing, and other complex real estate matters while collaborating with experienced attorneys on a national and global platform.

ResponsibilitiesCommercial Real Estate Transactions
  • Handle a broad range of sophisticated commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, development, and joint ventures.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, leases, financing documents, and related transaction agreements.
  • Assist with transaction structuring, due diligence, and closing coordination.
  • Provide practical, business-focused legal advice to clients throughout all stages of a transaction.
Due Diligence & Risk Analysis
  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of title, survey, zoning, lease, and other real estate due diligence materials.
  • Identify legal, financial, and operational risks affecting commercial real estate transactions.
  • Prepare due diligence reports and develop practical risk mitigation strategies.
Transaction Management & Client Service
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients on active matters.
  • Coordinate with attorneys, lenders, consultants, title companies, and other transaction participants.
  • Manage multiple transactions simultaneously while maintaining deadlines and ensuring high-quality work product.
  • Mentor junior attorneys and support the development of collaborative deal teams.
Qualifications
  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active Pennsylvania bar admission or eligibility for admission.
  • 4–6 years of commercial real estate and/or real estate finance experience at a law firm.
  • Significant experience drafting and negotiating commercial real estate transaction documents.
  • Strong understanding of title, survey, zoning, leasing, financing, and property rights.
  • Experience managing sophisticated commercial real estate transactions from inception through closing.
  • Excellent analytical, drafting, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Collaborative mindset with demonstrated leadership potential.
