Job description

Pay: $150,000.00 - $185,000.00 per year

Why This Is a Great Opportunity

  • Dig into sophisticated commercial real estate work — acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, financing, development, and land use — with a varied client base that includes developers, investors, lenders, and commercial tenants
  • Join a firm that empowers attorneys to build practices that fit their strengths, with the support of a collaborative, cross-disciplinary team behind you
  • Develop and own meaningful client relationships from day one — this firm values attorneys who take initiative and think strategically, not just those who execute transactions
  • Grow your career with a dedicated attorney mentoring program, practice area training, and full expense reimbursement for CLE, bar dues, and business development
  • Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with employer contributions, generous HSA/HRA contributions, paid parental leave with ramp-up/ramp-down, and employer-paid life and disability insurance
  • Professional liability insurance fully covered — your exposure is the firm's responsibility, not yours
  • Free covered parking, flexible dress code ("Dress for Your Day"), Henry Doorly Zoo membership, and a strong slate of firm and community events
  • Hybrid flexibility in one of the Midwest's most livable, affordable, and economically active metros

Location: Hybrid in Omaha, Nebraska — on-site presence encouraged as you build team and client relationships, with flexibility as you settle in. Nebraska Bar licensure or clear eligibility to obtain it is required. No relocation assistance is available.

Note: Candidates must have 5+ years of commercial real estate experience in private practice and active Nebraska Bar licensure (or clear eligibility). Applicants without this background will not be considered.

About Us

We are a full-service law firm with a culture built on collaboration, inclusivity, and a genuine commitment to professional excellence. Our attorneys work across practice groups, build lasting client relationships, and are given the autonomy and resources to grow. We embrace diverse perspectives, invest in our people, and create an environment where doing great work and enjoying your career aren't mutually exclusive. Confidential Employer.

Job Description

  • Counsel clients on all aspects of commercial real estate transactions — including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and financing across a range of asset types and deal structures
  • Partner with developers, investors, lenders, and commercial tenants to understand objectives, structure deals, and deliver practical, client-centered legal advice
  • Lead due diligence processes including title review, survey analysis, and environmental assessments — identifying risk and advising clients accordingly
  • Ensure client compliance with applicable real estate, title, and zoning laws and regulations, including land use and development matters
  • Build and manage long-term client relationships that deepen trust, strengthen engagement, and generate ongoing business development opportunities
  • Collaborate with colleagues across practice groups to deliver integrated service on complex, multi-disciplinary matters

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of commercial real estate experience in private practice (required)
  • In-depth knowledge of real estate transactions, development, and financing; familiarity with land use and zoning compliance
  • Active Nebraska Bar license, or eligibility and commitment to obtain licensure
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills — able to translate complex deal dynamics into clear client guidance
  • Detail-oriented with a track record of producing accurate, high-quality work product efficiently
  • Client-focused with a proactive, responsive approach to service
  • Comfortable working independently on matters while contributing to a collaborative team environment
  • Initiative-driven: takes ownership of work and manages transactions with appropriate autonomy

Why You Will Love Working Here

This is a firm where commercial real estate attorneys do substantive, interesting work — and where the infrastructure to support your success is genuinely in place. You'll have access to mentorship, training, and business development support that actually moves the needle, along with a benefits package that covers everything from professional liability insurance to covered parking. The culture is collegial, the workload is meaningful, and the flexibility is real.
