Job description

Summary:

To increase the value and desirability of Ocean Reef Club membership and real estate by providing incomparable excellence in all services and facilities in the Ocean Reef Club community. Have an upbeat can-do attitude and perform and assist all service station functions as assigned by the Manager. In this role, employees are expected to effectively multitask while performing a variety of responsibilities, including maintaining a clean work environment, assisting Mechanics with daily operations, pumping fuel, detailing vehicles, operating the register and answering incoming phone calls. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist customers at full service pump, checking oil, fluids and tires.
  • Register sales transactions using the Station Console. Payments are made through credit cards, member cards and cash.
  • Open/Close Service Station following protocols.
  • Wash and Detail vehicles.
  • Clean station, remove trash, replace inventory, stick tanks and perform other tasks requested in the operation of the Station.
  • Answer phones and take messages.
  • Must be able to work weekends and Holidays.
  • Performs minor mechanical work under supervision.
  • Perform tire work and assist on tire rotations.
  • Schedule and perform oil changes.
  • Fill paper work and able to handle some office work.
  • Place online orders for parts.
  • Stand for duration of shift and be able to multi task. 
  • Maintain Service Station area clean.
  • Undertake all service work designated by Chief Mechanic.
  • Undertake all work designated by Service Station Manager.


Qualifications:

  • No experience is required, as training will be provided. However, basic mechanical knowledge is preferred, including the ability to check oils, fluids, inspect belts under the hood and check and properly air tires.
  • Must be able to communicate basic mechanical findings to customers and to request assistance in advising customer when needed.
  • Accomplish good communication with other station employees. 
  • Some computer experience and understanding of spreadsheets, is helpful.


Education and/or Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Mechanical knowledge is a plus.


Language Skills:

Must be able to read and write English


Mathematical Skills

Basic mathematical skills are required. Previous reconciling experience helpful. Must be able to count, give change and handle money.

Reasoning Ability: 

Will be required to handle customer's questions, explain the information on a Repair Order and lead a customer to the proper station employee to complete the service.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:  

  • Must have current USA drivers' license.

Attendance, Appearance and Conduct:

Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Ocean Reef Club from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Associates with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.


Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry and report deadlines, associate may be required to work varying schedules to meet the business needs of the Club and report deadlines.


Proper grooming is required by all associates and is described in detail in the Associates Handbook. Associates should review this policy and make sure that at all times they present themselves for shifts looking clean, neat and professional. 


As a condition of employment, all associates agree to fully comply with Ocean Reef Club rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of Club facilities. Associates who violate Club rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
