Job description

Real Estate Associate (3+ Years)

Miami, Florida

Compensation: $235,000 – $435,000

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Real Estate Associate to join the Miami office of a major international law firm.

The successful attorney will join a sophisticated transactional real estate practice advising clients on significant commercial property matters across multiple asset classes. The role offers the resources and deal flow of a large international platform while providing associates with meaningful responsibility for transactions and direct interaction with clients.

The Role

This is a broad transactional real estate position covering acquisitions, dispositions, financing, development and leasing.

The workload will include:

  • Commercial real estate acquisitions and dispositions
  • Real estate financing transactions
  • Development projects
  • Land use and zoning matters
  • Commercial leasing
  • Drafting and negotiating purchase and sale agreements
  • Drafting and negotiating leases and other transaction documents
  • Conducting and managing real estate due diligence
  • Reviewing title, survey and other property-related matters
  • Coordinating transaction closings
  • Managing significant portions of transactions
  • Communicating directly with clients, counterparties and third-party professionals
  • Working alongside colleagues across complementary corporate and finance practices

The role is particularly well suited to an associate who has developed a solid transactional foundation and now wants greater responsibility for managing matters and client relationships.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally possess:

  • 3+ years of transactional commercial real estate experience
  • Large law firm experience is preferred, although strong candidates from respected boutique or mid-sized real estate practices will also be considered
  • Experience with acquisitions and dispositions
  • Real estate finance experience
  • Development and commercial leasing experience
  • Strong drafting, negotiation and research skills
  • Ability to independently manage small-to-mid-sized transactions or significant portions of larger transactions
  • Excellent client-facing and communication skills
  • Strong commercial judgment and attention to detail
  • Ability to operate effectively within a collaborative deal team

What's on Offer

  • $235,000 – $435,000 base compensation, depending on location, seniority and experience
  • Major international law firm platform
  • Sophisticated commercial real estate deal flow
  • Exposure to acquisitions, development, finance and leasing rather than a narrowly defined practice
  • Significant transaction responsibility
  • Direct client exposure
  • Opportunity to work alongside highly regarded real estate attorneys
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • Strong long-term progression opportunities within an established global practice

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercial real estate associate looking to continue building a sophisticated transactional practice while gaining greater ownership of deals and exposure to high-quality clients.
