Job description

If you're looking for a role where your work influences real decisions - not just reports - this opportunity was built for you. Based in Hanover's Houston corporate office, this full-time Real Estate Analyst position offers the unique opportunity to work alongside senior leaders while gaining exposure to the full lifecycle of multifamily real estate ownership.
This is an entry-level opportunity (0-1 year of professional experience) designed for recent graduates and early-career professionals who are eager to build a career in multifamily real estate and financial analysis.
Hanover owns and manages a portfolio of high-quality multifamily communities across major U.S. markets. Our vertically integrated platform gives team members unique visibility into the full investment lifecycle and creates opportunities to learn beyond a traditional analyst role.
Why Hanover?
  • Exposure to a nationally recognized multifamily platform
  • Opportunity to work across development, construction, operations, and asset management
  • Direct interaction with senior leadership and decision-makers
  • Meaningful responsibility, mentorship, and opportunities to contribute from day one
  • Clear opportunities for professional growth and advancement
  • Collaborative entrepreneurial culture focused on excellence
  • Ideal launchpad for recent graduates and early-career professionals seeking hands-on experience in real estate
  • Company-paid medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage for employees
  • Competitive compensation and bonus program that rewards performance and contribution

We're looking for a highly analytical individual who enjoys working with data and Excel but also wants to understand what drives performance at the property level. In this role, you'll analyze financial results, identify trends, support portfolio strategy, and help leadership make informed business decisions across a portfolio of multifamily communities.
Unlike a traditional analyst role, you'll gain firsthand exposure to the operations behind the financials. You'll work directly with Regional and Property Managers to understand how leasing activity, resident retention, operating expenses, capital improvements, and market conditions impact property performance. This combination of financial analysis and operational insight allows our Real Estate Analysts to play a key role in enhancing portfolio performance and creating value within the asset management team.
This role is ideal for a highly motivated professional seeking development in commercial real estate. Successful analysts gain exposure to investment strategy, portfolio management, financial planning, market analysis, and executive decision-making that often takes years to access within larger organizations. They also develop an understanding of property valuation, capital structures, equity partnerships, and disposition activities, providing insight into the full lifecycle of real estate ownership.
Responsibilities Include:
  • Analyze property and submarket performance, including leasing activity traffic trends, occupancy, revenue, expenses, and overall financial results
  • Develop and distribute weekly, monthly, and ad hoc Asset Management reports that provide meaningful insights to leadership
  • Participate in asset strategy reviews and assist in the execution of business plans designed to maximize property performance
  • Support the Chief Operating Officer and Asset Management team with portfolio analysis, special projects, and strategic initiatives
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of annual operating plans and performance objectives
  • Partner with Property Managers and onsite teams to evaluate performance, identify opportunities, and support the execution of asset strategies
  • Contribute to portfolio-wide initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency, resident experience, and asset value
  • Support property valuation, disposition, and due diligence activities, including financial analysis, reporting, and market research
  • Assist in maintaining relationships with equity partners through the preparation of reports and property updates
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Real Estate or a related field
  • Recent college graduate or professional with 0-1 year of experience in finance, accounting, real estate, or business analysis (internship experience is welcome)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large data sets, identify trends, and draw meaningful conclusions
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, conditional formatting, data analysis, and the ability to transform large data sets into meaningful business insights
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and professionally
  • Naturally curious with a desire to understand both operational and financial drivers of business performance
  • Collaborative team player who enjoys working across departments and building relationships throughout the organization
