Introduction

A skilled Technical Writer to help create the content users need, when and where they need it. You will work in a fast-paced, Agile environment with subject matter experts from the Product and Engineering teams, as well as partner with the Education, Onboarding, Enablement and Customer Success teams, to ensure product documentation is accurate, up-to-date and meets user's needs.
Demonstrated ability to follow style.
Proficiency with writing tools.
Completes assignments on time and with high quality.

Job Responsibilities

Core Skills:
Demonstrated ability to through lens/voice of the style guide. 
Flexible and able to work on a variety of products as needed.
Can be relied on to write quality documentation for any product in the suite. 
SME in their core product area.
Strong technical acumen and understanding of the software development lifecycle.

Soft Skills:
Perform peer reviews for other writers, writing for style and concision. 
Explains complex problems and solutions in a clear and concise manner, even to non-technical folks.
Clearly communicates and defends priority of work.  
Independently researches information for writing, and knows when to ask for help

Leadership Skills:
Mentors, coaches, and develops more junior team members.  

Process:
Identifies inefficiences and makes suggestions to improve. 
Respected opinion in their product area. 
Plans, organizes, and writes for a large feature or new product. 
May interview other technical writing candidates for positions on the team.
Demonstrates innovation and creativity in various approaches to work such as tools, processes, structure, style guide, productivity of self and colleagues. 
Researches the Jira ticket system for known bugs or new features to discover and communicate potential gaps to product owners.

People:
Collaborates with their peers in ADEPT to successfully complete projects.
Maintains relationships with peers in other departments that they can go to for customer input and feedback on user/dev documentation. 
Autonomous worker who can prioritize own work.

Cross-functional Meetings:
Sets up and leads meetings, (set the agenda, lead the conversation, build consensus, and drive decision making).

Knowledge and Experience

Approximately 3-7 years of technical writing experience (or fewer years with additional software development experience, or other enhancing skillset)

Education

Bachelor's Degree (Master's Preferred) in English, Information Design, Technical Writing, Technical Communication or equivalent, required
