Job description

Tutoring Club is seeking a patient, energetic, and dependable tutor to work with elementary and middle school students in reading and math. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children and can make learning encouraging, engaging, and productive.


Tutoring may include:

• Phonics and beginning reading
• Reading fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension
• Elementary and middle school math
• Foundational math skills and math facts
• Homework support and study skills


Required availability:

• Monday through Thursday, 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
• Saturday mornings, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon


Qualifications:

• A minimum of 60 completed college credit hours is required and will be verified
• Strong reading, writing, and foundational math skills
• Ability to connect with children and explain concepts in age-appropriate ways
• Dependable, punctual, patient, and encouraging
• Comfortable working with students individually and in small groups
• Spanish-speaking candidates are a plus
• Previous tutoring, teaching, childcare, or youth-related experience is preferred


This is a part-time, in-person position. Curriculum, student materials, and training are provided.
