This collaborative approach helps create a supportive environment that fosters student growth and allows tutors to feel connected to the larger educational team.

What are Reading Partners?

Reading Partners is a nonprofit organization that recruits and trains community volunteers to provide one-on-one literacy tutoring to elementary school students who need extra support. The goal is to help children become confident readers by providing individualized instruction using a proven, research-based curriculum. Volunteers typically work with students in under-resourced schools, helping to bridge the literacy gap and improve reading proficiency. The program collaborates closely with teachers and school staff to ensure each student’s progress is tracked and supported. By participating, both volunteers and students benefit from meaningful relationships and improved literacy outcomes.
