Job description

As a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Monticello Hospital, you’ll find purpose by bringing comfort and healing to our patients. This work requires a kind heart and caring hands. Whether this role is a long-term career choice, supplementing a current job, or a path to other jobs in healthcare, you will find fulfillment in the lives you touch.  In this position you will support Med/Surg department, Geriatric Behavioral Health Unit, and Emergency Department.

Here are some ways you’ll serve patients:

  • Critical monitoring, like obtaining blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiratory rate, and oxygen levels – so we can better assess patient health
  • Transport patients to appointments and procedures – to get them the right care at the right time
  • Interact with patients to promote comfort, and express compassion, and empathy as they heal
  • Walking – It’s one of the most important things we can do for our patients- and you get to help them do it safely
  • Assist with activities of daily living – things we often take for granted that patients may be unable to, or need help doing, themselves. This can include eating, bathing, brushing teeth, toileting and more.

Schedule:

  • Part-Time 48 hours every two weeks
  • Variable 12-hour shifts; shifts to include 7pm-7:30am and 7am-7:30pm (you would be working a combination of both shifts)
  • Every 3rd weekend 7pm-7:30am
  • Rotating Holidays 

Pay and Benefits:

  • Starting pay begins at $19.40 per hour and increases with experience.
    • Pay Range: $19.40 - $28.79 per hour
  • Benefits include medical, dental, vacation accrual, retirement, and employee discounts.

Qualifications:

  • Certified as a Nursing Assistant on the Minnesota Registry.
  • Some healthcare experience is preferred but not required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Must have current certification through the American Heart Association.
  • Strong interpersonal human relations skills.
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
