Job description

Positions Available: 6 Openings

  • 4 Positions: Classroom Assistants
  • 1 Position: "Walk to Read" Reading Assistant
  • 1 Position: Lunch & Recess Monitor

Key Responsibilities

For Classroom Assistant Positions (4 Openings):

  • Instructional Support: Help students understand and complete their daily lessons and academic activities.
  • Material Preparation: Assist teachers in preparing, organizing, and setting up learning materials and classroom activities.
  • Behavior Management: Actively manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement to keep students focused, safe, and on-task.

For the "Walk to Read" Position (1 Opening):

  • Reading Support: Facilitate small-group reading instruction and targeted literacy interventions during the school's designated reading blocks.
  • Progress Tracking: Help monitor student reading progress and coordinate with the reading specialist or classroom teachers to support student growth.

For the Lunch & Recess Monitor

  • Student Safety & Movement: Ensure safe student transitions from the cafeteria to the playground during lunch recess (11:00 AM 1:00 PM).
  • Recess Monitoring: Supervise outdoor play (weather permitting) or assist with indoor recess as needed.
  • Student Assistance: Provide active, helpful supervision to ensure a positive, safe break environment.
