Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Tool and Die Maker to join a precision manufacturing facility in Elk Grove Village. This role is ideal for skilled tradespeople with strong milling and grinding experience who enjoy hands-on machining, blueprint reading, and delivering high-quality parts. Candidates will work in a collaborative shop environment with opportunities for growth.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate manual milling and grinding machines for tool and die production.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and setup sheets.

  • Perform inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other precision instruments.

  • Troubleshoot and repair tooling to ensure production quality and uptime.

  • Collaborate with engineers and shop leadership to improve tooling and processes.

  • Maintain safety, 5S, and documentation standards.

Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of hands-on Tool and Die Maker experience.

  • Proficiency in milling and grinding with ability to perform setups independently.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

  • Strong skills in precision measurement and inspection.

  • Attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Tool and die design experience (CAD/CAM exposure a plus).

  • Experience in metal stamping, forming, or die repair.

  • Familiarity with ISO or AS9100D quality standards.

  • CNC milling experience alongside manual machining.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
