Job description

Summary Providing a community service through tutoring elementary-aged children. Note this is a Federal Work Study position, so applicants need to be eligible for Federal Work Study to be hired for this position. Career Readiness Competencies: Communication Leadership Professionalism Essential Functions Tutoring children of varying age levels and abilities Practice with effective teaching strategies including, but not limited to: read-aloud, vocabulary, sight-words Developing positive relationships to increase student motivation and learning Documenting services provided through reflection Working collaboratively with teachers, school personnel, and site coordinators Assisting teachers with varying duties when not working directly with children Minimum Qualifications A love of working with children Becoming a positive role model to children Must be Federal Work Study eligible; continuation in the program is contingent upon the America Reads evaluation completed by office and school All tutors are required to have a BCI & FBI background check completed at the student's expense Bowling Green State University is an equal opportunity employer.
