React React Native information

What are React and React Native?

React is a popular JavaScript library developed by Facebook for building user interfaces, especially for single-page web applications. React Native, on the other hand, is a framework that allows developers to use React to build native mobile applications for iOS and Android using JavaScript and React components. While React is mainly used for web development, React Native enables code reuse across web and mobile platforms, making development more efficient. Both tools are widely adopted due to their component-based architecture and strong community support.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a React React Native developer?

To thrive as a React/React Native Developer, you need strong proficiency in JavaScript, React.js, React Native, and a solid understanding of component-based architecture, typically supported by a degree in computer science or related experience. Familiarity with tools like Redux, Git, RESTful APIs, and popular testing frameworks, as well as continuous integration systems, is commonly required. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication help developers collaborate and deliver high-quality code. These skills and qualities are crucial to building performant, scalable, and user-friendly web and mobile applications that meet business and user needs.

How do React and React Native developers typically collaborate with designers and backend teams on projects?

React and React Native developers often work closely with UX/UI designers to translate design mockups into interactive user interfaces, ensuring that the final product matches the intended user experience. They also collaborate with backend teams to integrate APIs and manage data flow between the client and server, often participating in regular stand-up meetings and code reviews. Clear communication and a solid understanding of RESTful APIs or GraphQL are essential for smooth coordination across teams. This collaborative environment not only fosters learning but also ensures that the final product is both functional and visually appealing.

What is the difference between React React Native vs React Developer?

AspectReact React NativeReact Developer
Primary FocusMobile app development with React Native; cross-platformWeb development using React.js
Required SkillsJavaScript, React Native, mobile UI/UX, native modulesJavaScript, React.js, HTML/CSS, web UI/UX
Work EnvironmentMobile app projects, cross-platform toolsWeb applications, browser-based projects
Industry UsageMobile app companies, startups, cross-platform solutionsWeb development firms, tech companies, startups

React React Native focuses on building mobile apps for iOS and Android using React Native, while React Developer specializes in creating web applications with React.js. Both roles require JavaScript expertise, but React React Native emphasizes mobile UI/UX and native modules, whereas React Developers focus on web interfaces and browser compatibility.

Is React Native a good career?

React Native is a popular framework for mobile app development, and roles for React Native developers are in demand due to the widespread use of cross-platform applications. Skills in JavaScript, React, and mobile development environments can enhance job prospects, and many companies seek developers with experience in building and maintaining React Native apps.

Is React Native still in demand?

React Native remains in high demand as a popular framework for cross-platform mobile app development, with many companies seeking developers skilled in JavaScript and React. Its widespread adoption in the industry ensures continued job opportunities, especially for those familiar with related tools like Redux and native modules.

What is a React Native job?

A React Native job involves developing mobile applications for iOS and Android platforms using the React Native framework. It requires skills in JavaScript, React, and mobile development tools, often including knowledge of UI/UX design and integration with backend services.

Job description

Senior Software Engineer

RedaptInc. is a pioneering world-class data center infrastructure integrator, technology engineering firm, and cloud services provider. Our teams focus on delivering innovative solutions and services that power our customers' most demanding applications and enable them to extract powerful insights from data that drive true business value.

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Cloud Solutions team. This individual will have a passion for cloud computing, open-source technologies, and enjoys working in an environment where every project requires a best-of-breed solution.

Our engineers work on implementing cloud solutions that solve real-world problems and deliver value to our long-term clients. We encourage them to leverage the most cutting-edge cloud platforms and automation tools available and interface with the thought leaders of the industry.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, test, and deliver modern applications and services across public cloud, private cloud, and customer-managed environments.
  • Build cloud-native and distributed applications using modern APIs, managed cloud services, containers, serverless technologies, and appropriate application frameworks.
  • Modernize and migrate existing applications and workloads to cloud platforms, including refactoring, replatforming, and integration with IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS services.
  • Develop and maintain front-end, back-end, API, and integration components as required by the solution.
  • Build automated development, testing, deployment, and infrastructure provisioning workflows using CI/CD, infrastructure as code, scripting, and cloud-native tooling.
  • Analyze existing applications, codebases, dependencies, and workloads to identify modernization opportunities and appropriate implementation strategies.
  • Translate customer business and technical requirements into well-defined architectures, user stories, engineering tasks, and implementation plans that can be executed across multiple disciplines.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools and coding agents to accelerate code generation, refactoring, testing, debugging, documentation, and codebase analysis while maintaining appropriate engineering review and quality controls.
  • Participate in code reviews, automated testing, troubleshooting, performance optimization, security reviews, and production-readiness activities.
  • Prototype and evaluate new platforms, frameworks, tools, and development methodologies, and help determine when and how they should be incorporated into customer solutions.
Skills you bring with you:
  • Expert-level in static-typed languages like C# and Java and proficiency with Python.
  • Strong experience with React and TypeScript, including component design, state management, API integration, responsive UI development, and testing.
  • Solid foundation of data structures, algorithms, and software design.
  • Code review, automated testing, observability, CI/CD, secure development, and operational ownership are more contemporary.
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted and agentic software development tools such as Cursor, OpenAI Codex, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent. Experience using AI coding agents to accelerate software development tasks such as code generation, refactoring, debugging, test creation, codebase exploration, documentation, and implementation of well-defined features.
  • A commitment to best practices. Weโ€™ll want your opinions on operational processes, DevOps, deployment checklists, and more.
Qualifications:
  • BS or MS in Computer Science preferred, equivalent experience considered.
  • 5+ years as an Engineer with depth on the application and software side of the stack/
  • 2+ years of experience developing and automating software delivery workflows, including CI/CD, infrastructure as code, deployment automation, and cloud services. Familiarity with tools such as Terraform.
Additionally, you willshowcase the following:
  • Ability to move between hands-on implementation and higher-level solution design as project needs evolve.
  • Sound engineering judgment, including the ability to evaluate tradeoffs across scalability, maintainability, performance, security, cost, and delivery speed.
  • Strong ownership mentality, with a willingness to take solutions from initial requirements through implementation, testing, deployment, and operational handoff.
  • AWS CDK/CloudFormation, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Ansible, or equivalent is preferred. Experience building automated, repeatable development and deployment environments is a strong plus.
