Job Summary

Ellsworth Adhesives, part of Ellsworth Corporation, is looking for a Front End Web Developer to join our team at the corporate headquarters in Germantown, WI. The role supports ongoing enhancements to the company website, ensuring high-quality user experience, performance, and internal operational efficiency. The position is hybrid.

Responsibilities
  • Implements and maintains website updates, refining layouts, components and responsive interfaces to improve usability, accessibility, and overall user experience.
  • Develops and updates web pages, templates, and reusable components using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, modern frameworks, and page building tools such as Makeswift and Big Commerce B2B Page Builder to maintain site functionality.
  • Assists with integrating APIs, data sources, and system connections to support site functionality, workflow efficiency, and scalable content operations.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves front-end issues, including layout inconsistencies, performance concerns, and cross-browser compatibility, while applying techniques that enhance speed and stability.
  • Ensures that all pages meet accessibility guidelines (WCAG) and responsive design standards, maintaining consistent, high-quality user interaction patterns.
Qualifications
  • Experience 5+ years of front‑end development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks on responsive, content‑driven websites (flexible on # years, quality of experience more important).
  • Bachelor’s degree in web development, Computer Science, Digital Design, or related field.
  • Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and familiarity with modern frameworks (React, Vue, Angular).
  • Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG), responsive design, and UX/UI fundamentals.
  • Strong understanding of front-end architecture, component-based design, and integration with APIs/CMS platforms.
  • Knowledge of website performance optimization and debugging techniques.
  • Experience with code versioning tools (Git) and collaborative workflows.
  • Experience with CMS platforms and content-driven websites.
  • Experience working in a hybrid front-end environment that combines custom development with visual/page builder tools (Makeswift, BigCommerce B2B Page Builder).
  • Preferred: hands‑on experience building pages, templates, or reusable components in Makeswift and/or BigCommerce B2B Page Builder.
  • Familiarity with B2B eCommerce UX patterns – a plus (account-specific pricing, quick order, quotes, shared carts) and how front-end changes can impact conversion and customer experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to clean, maintainable code.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional partners.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
