Job Summary:
Athene is a company focused on providing innovative retirement income solutions, and they are seeking a Senior Full Stack Cloud Engineer to join their Vitera team. In this role, you will architect and ship cloud-native applications, influencing how software is built in an AI-first environment.
Responsibilities:
• You'll build full stack applications and cloud services across a modern, collaborative engineering stack — owning features end to end, from API design through to user-facing UI.
• You'll be one of the engineers helping us redefine our agentic AI SDLC — rethinking how we plan, build, test, and deploy software when AI agents are part of the team.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 6+ years of relevant software engineering experience designing and building cloud-native applications using modern JavaScript frameworks, Node.js, React.js, AWS services, and API technologies or relevant experience.
• Experience developing secure applications utilizing AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, S3, RDS, IAM), RESTful and GraphQL APIs, authentication technologies (JWT/OAuth), PostgreSQL databases, and Git-based version control.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives, solve complex problems, influence technical decisions, and thrive in Agile development environments while embracing innovation, adaptability, AI-enabled development practices, and continuous learning.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and critical thinking skills with the ability to partner effectively across engineering, product, architecture, and business teams while embodying Athene's BEAM values.
• Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Military experience will be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
