Community Reach Diagnostic Clinic is seeking a dedicated Surgical Physician Assistant to join our dynamic team in Roanoke, Virginia. In this full-time role, you will utilize your medical expertise and compassionate care to support our surgical team and facilitate patient recovery. This position requires you to work onsite at our state-of-the-art surgical center, where you will collaborate closely with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Our clinic promotes a team-oriented atmosphere that values communication, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The standard work schedule is Monday to Friday, totaling 40 hours per week, with evening shifts extending to 5:00 PM.

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including physical examinations and review of medical histories, to develop an accurate understanding of each patient’s health status.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as blood tests and X-rays, to aid in effective treatment planning.
• Diagnose and manage acute health conditions, thereby playing a crucial role in emergency care situations within our surgical facility.
• Create and implement customized treatment plans for patients dealing with chronic illnesses, ensuring a holistic approach to their care.
• Prescribe medications, monitor their effects, and adjust treatment plans as necessary to maintain optimal patient health.
• Maintain meticulous and organized patient records, ensuring confidentiality while fostering effective patient communication.
• Educate patients and their families on health maintenance, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes to promote long-term well-being.
• Encourage good health practices among patients to empower them in their recovery journey.
• Participate in ongoing professional development, staying informed about the latest advancements in medical care and potential research opportunities.

As a Surgical Physician Assistant, you will be interacting with a diverse patient population, including individuals undergoing surgery, those in recovery, and patients requiring urgent care. Your role is vital in addressing a variety of health issues, ensuring not only medical treatment but also compassionate support that considers each patient's unique circumstances and needs.

• A valid State Physician Assistant license (PA-C) and a DEA registration number.
• Educational background including a Master’s degree or Doctorate in Physician Assistant studies.
• A strong foundation in primary care and acute care practices, particularly in a surgical context.
• Thorough knowledge of health regulations and patient care standards.
• Outstanding communication skills for effective interaction with both patients and healthcare team members.
• A commitment to patient-centered care and strong ethical standards.

• Previous experience as a Physician Assistant in a surgical center, hospital, or urgent care facility will be highly regarded.

• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems to streamline patient documentation and data management.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus, enhancing communication with our diverse patient population.
