This training covers essential skills such as implementing behavior reduction and skill acquisition plans, data collection, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities, often autism. The role requires completing a 40-hour training course, passing a competency assessment, and successfully passing the RBT exam to become certified.
During the RBT training process, you will complete a structured 40-hour training program covering key concepts in applied behavior analysis (ABA), ethics, and practical intervention strategies. You’ll participate in interactive modules, observe real-world ABA sessions, and practice data collection and behavior intervention procedures under supervision. This training is designed to meet the requirements for the RBT exam, while also giving you hands-on experience to feel confident working with clients. Upon completion, you’ll be better prepared to support Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and provide effective, compassionate care to clients in clinical or educational settings.
To thrive in RBT Training, you need a high school diploma or equivalent, strong understanding of behavior analysis principles, and a genuine interest in working with individuals with autism or developmental disorders. Familiarity with data collection software, training modules, and preparation for the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification exam is essential. Effective communication, patience, and adaptability are valued soft skills that set strong candidates apart. These skills and qualifications are important to ensure trainees can learn, apply best practices, and positively impact clients’ progress during applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy.
