The following position is to join the RTX Corporate Legal team:

RTX is looking for an experienced legal professional who will provide critical support on U.S. Government (USG) compliance and transactional matters across the enterprise. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated team player with strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

As Director and Senior Counsel, Government Contracts, this lawyer will serve as a subject matter expert on USG procurement law, policy, and transactions within the RTX Corporate Legal, Contracts and Compliance (LCC) organization to provide advice and counsel to RTX and its businesses on all aspects of USG contracting.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide expert counsel and guidance to the company on all aspects of government contracting, including in the areas of contract formation and claims, disputes, bid protests, investigations and disclosures.
  • Remain apprised of new federal procurement and compliance regulations and policies.
  • Work closely with key functions and business teams to develop policies, processes and guidelines concerning compliance with government obligations.
  • Support the development and deployment of training and guidance resources in connection with regulatory and acquisition policy developments.
  • Coordinate with lawyers, contracts professionals, and compliance personnel across the enterprise on compliance and regulatory interpretation matters.
  • Coordinate with and counsel business colleagues on USG contracting compliance and transactional matters.
  • Develop, effectively communicate, and support the implementation of risk mitigation strategies involving government contracting.
  • Engage and proactively manage outside counsel, as required and within budget.
  • Promote compliance with the RTX Code of Conduct by communicating the provisions of the code and monitoring the performance of direct and indirect subordinates with regard to their understanding of their responsibilities and obligations under the Code of Conduct and related RTX policies.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Law degree (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school
  • Member of a state bar in good standing and in-house counsel registration following hiring
  • At least seven years of substantial experience in all aspects of US Government contracting
  • Expertise in FAR, DFARS, federal procurement statutes, regulations and policy, with demonstrated experience effectively operationalizing compliance requirements in a business
  • Ability to travel domestically, as needed

The salary range for this role is 186,200 USD - 353,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
