We deliver solutions that help our nation and allies defend freedoms and deter aggression, creating a safer, more secure world. Join us and help shape the future of aerospace and defense.

Raytheon is seeking a Section Manager to lead a team of engineers responsible for the development, integration, and application of variable-fidelity computer models and simulations that assess complex system and system-of-systems behaviors in advanced threat environments. This role includes oversight of kill-chain simulation testbeds designed to run in real-time or faster-than-real-time and integrate into joint test environments in Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) settings.

What You Will Do

  • Lead a team of 8–15 engineers developing and integrating variable-fidelity simulation models that represent system and system-of-systems effects in complex threat environments.

  • Oversee the creation and use of kill-chain simulation testbeds that operate in real-time or faster-than-real-time and integrate into distributed LVC test environments.

  • Work with your team to generate virtual and analytical solutions that identify technology gaps, demonstrate operational benefits of new mission concepts, support requirements development, and test system behaviors.

  • Use a holistic engineering mindset to develop and visualize solutions as both a leader and an individual contributor supporting one or more programs.

  • Be accountable for the execution of assigned work, delivery of technical products, and adherence to programmatic schedules and requirements.

  • Perform line-management responsibilities including performance development and appraisal (including salary planning), career development, staffing allocation, and ensuring your team has required resources and support.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, administrative requirements, and organizational standards.

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction and alignment with business needs.

  • Manage communication flow between your section and Raytheon leadership, communicating direction to your team and reporting status upward.

  • Interface with government and contractor customers to define requirements, participate in tool development, and evaluate end-to-end system needs including interfaces and data connectivity across the kill chain.

  • Support modeling of mission and system kill chains using government, commercial, and Raytheon simulation tools (e.g., AFSIM, RCADE).

  • Present developed tools, capabilities, and analytical results to internal, external, and government customers.

  • Occasional travel as required (<10%).

What You Will Learn

  • Administrative and technical oversight skills needed to manage a section while maintaining day-to-day engineering involvement and supporting department and directorate initiatives.

  • Talent acquisition processes, goal setting, career development, performance appraisals, and compensation procedures.

  • Practices for ensuring employee compliance with company policies and procedures.

  • How simulation tools integrate into the DoD distributed LVC joint test environment and how they support operational testing.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

  • Experience with Numerical Optimization Techniques, Analysis of Alternatives, Design of Experiments, or Experience with Military Operations Analysis.

  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python or MATLAB.

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience using Raytheon tools such as OpsTool or RCADE, or Government/Industry modeling and simulation tools such as AFSIM, OneSAF, ESAMS, Brawler, JAAM, TGx, STK, or TMAP.

  • Experience implementing simulation protocols including Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS), High-Level Architecture (HLA), or Test and Training Enabling Architecture (TENA).

  • Experience modeling sensing systems or effectors, including performance evaluation in mission or engagement scenarios.

  • Experience conducting statistical analysis, design of experiments (DOE), or data analytics to support system or mission evaluations.

  • Experience developing or evaluating CONOPS, campaign models, engagement models, mission models, or threat assessments.

  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance.
