Position Overview

The Raw Material Planner ensures raw materials are available in the right quantities and at the right time to support production and customer demand. This role manages material requirements, inventory levels, delivery coordination, and supply risks while partnering across Procurement, Operations, Logistics, Warehouse, Quality, and suppliers.


Key Responsibilities 

  • Develop and maintain Material Requirements Plans (MRP) based on production schedules, BOMs, inventory, and purchase orders.
  • Forecast material needs and maintain optimal inventory while minimizing excess, obsolete, and waste inventory.
  • Partner with Production Scheduling to create material-feasible production plans and resolve constraints.
  • Coordinate pallet, tanker, and perishable ingredient deliveries to support uninterrupted production.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Operations, Warehouse, Receiving, Logistics, suppliers, and customers to resolve shortages, delivery issues, and receiving discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory, planning, receiving reports, and schedules.
  • Coordinate with Quality Assurance and customers on rejected, obsolete, or nonconforming materials.
  • Support the Aseptic Planning Scheduler and serve as primary backup when needed.
  • Identify and implement improvements in material planning, inventory accuracy, and supply chain performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Operations, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in materials planning, inventory management, supply chain, production planning, or manufacturing.
  • Experience with ERP/material planning systems and Microsoft Office; advanced Excel skills preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and planning skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across functions and with suppliers.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy and continuous improvement.
  • CPIM or CSCP certification preferred.
