Activate is a tech company known for creating North America's first full-scale interactive gaming facility. We are looking to expand our team with the addition of an Electronics Installer that is willing to travel across the US to help our expansion nationwide. You will work on a rotational basis, expected to work multiple weeks in a row with an off week in between travel. In the position of Electronics Installer, you will work independently, or with a small team, to support national facilities with technical issues. Your primary tasks include: setting up facility computer equipment, assisting new facility electronics installations, and helping on-site staff navigate through technical fixes. The role requires ability to travel roughly 75% of the year
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Hardware Installation & Configuration
  • Traveling to the store and installing game components.
  • Assembling Windows computers and other electronic equipment including network devices, server racks, circuit boards, and other I/O components.
  • Ensuring accompanying documentation is completed up to standards.
  • Testing components remotely and onsite to ensure proper functionality.
  • Updating software and firmware remotely and onsite.

Quality Assurance
  • Ensuring to communicate effectively with facility staff at all levels of understanding.
  • Providing helpful and insightful support to facilities while maintaining a level of professionalism.
  • Following up on issue resolution to ensure that the problem is not repeated.
  • Documenting repeat issues with appropriate team members at a higher level.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Demonstrated proficiency in hardware troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in recognizing software and hardware issues.
  • Construction and/or carpentry background is STRONGLY preferred.
  • Experience with low voltage wiring such as CAT5 is preferred.
  • Experience with network troubleshooting is strongly preferred.
  • Willingness to work irregular hours, primarily evenings and weekends.
  • Willingness to provide support on-call when other members are unavailable.
  • Must be able and willing to travel by land or air to locations throughout the US for a minimum of 35 weeks a year.
  • Must possess and maintain a current, valid Driver's License

ADDITIONAL SKILLS:
  • Willingness to learn facility, game, component, and hardware standards.
  • Experience using Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or other microcontroller platforms preferred.
  • Experience with low level hardware protocols such as RS485, I2C, and SPI.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electronics using multimeters and other test equipment.
  • Previous experience completing documentation on computers, handling support calls remotely, and virtually assisting others is strongly preferred.
