About the Role

The Installation Technician is a hands on, customer facing role responsible for the installation, configuration, and verification of Raptor Technologies' Bluetooth beacon and gateway solutions at customer sites across the country. This position is 100% travel and plays a critical part in ensuring successful deployment of our safety technology by delivering high-quality installations, accurate documentation, and dependable technical support onsite. This is a temporary, full-time assignment anticipated to last from mid-August through mid-December, supporting a high volume of customer installations during the peak implementation season. The Installation Technician is responsible for installing, configuring, testing, and validating hardware and software solutions while ensuring each deployment is completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards.

Responsibilities

  • Travel 100% of the time to customer locations across assigned regions (air and/or road travel required).
  • Install indoor Bluetooth beacons using 3M adhesive and follow precise placement specifications to ensure optimal performance.
  • Use an iPad or mobile device to plan installation layouts, register beacons and gateways, and complete digital workflows/documentation.
  • Install outdoor beacons and related hardware, including mounting equipment in varying environmental conditions.
  • Safely work on ladders and handle installation tools, ensuring compliance with safety procedures and site requirements.
  • Troubleshoot basic hardware issues and verify beacon and gateway functionality after installation.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, onsite contacts, and internal teams regarding project progress and any issues encountered.
  • Test, validate, and verify installed hardware, software, and system functionality to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and compliance with installation standards before project completion.

Qualifications

  • Ability and willingness to travel 100%, including occasional short-notice trips.
  • Comfortable using technology such as iPads, mobile apps, and digital documentation tools.
  • Experience with hardware installation, field service work, low-voltage wiring, or similar hands-on technical roles (preferred but not required).
  • Ability to perform the physical demands of the position, including climbing ladders, lifting and carrying installation equipment, standing and walking for extended periods (up to 9 hours per day), traversing large school campuses, and working in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments, including warm weather conditions. Strong attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional communication and customer service abilities.
  • 1+ years of software, hardware, and networking troubleshooting experience.
  • 1+ years of experience in a customer-centric role.
  • Experience with IoT devices or systems design is a plus.
  • Experience working in highly regulated environments (e.g., schools, healthcare, government).
  • Ability to follow detailed written installation instructions or diagrams.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
