Job description

Job Title: Faculty Physician - Transplant Hepatology (Assistant or Associate Professor Rank - Academic or Master Clinician Track)

The Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at the University of Minnesota is seeking a board/eligible Transplant Hepatologist at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank on an academic or master clinician track. Become an integral team member within an academic division that is dedicated to cutting-edge and patient-centered care. The ideal candidate position will have an interest in continuing the development of our hepatology and transplant hepatology programs.

Position Highlights:

  • Responsibilities include inpatient attending on the liver service at the M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center.

  • Outpatient liver clinics are in the state-of-the-art facility at M Health Fairview Clinics and Surgery Center in Minneapolis.

  • Provide consultations and outreach activities.

  • It is anticipated that this individual will develop a clinical research program.

  • Be an active, ongoing participant in the academic missions of the Department of Medicine and the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition.

  • Enjoy ample opportunities to teach medical students, residents and Gastroenterology fellows.

  • We provide opportunities for continued development with educational conferences, CME, and collaboration with top specialists.

  • This is a part time position, .75 cFTE (30 hours/week).

About the Division:

The Gastroenterology Division's general GI Section hosts expanding clinical and research programs in IBD, esophageal disorders, complex polypectomy, use of AI in endoscopy and functional GI diseases.The transplant hepatology section hosts one of the longest standing liver transplant programs in the United States. The Division is also home to a nationally-recognized Advanced Endoscopy Section for the development and management of ERCP, EUS, and management of complex pancreas/biliary disorders. The Division continues to maintain highest ambitions for excellence in all three of its major missions:patient services,teaching, andresearch.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited ACGME Internal Medicine residency, Gastroenterology and Transplant Hepatology Fellowship training programs.

  • Board certified in internal medicine and board certified/board eligible in Gastroenterology and Transplant Hepatology by the ABIM.

  • Advanced training in hepatology and clinical experience in hepatology and/or transplant hepatology is highly desirable.

  • Demonstrated excellence in patient care, enthusiasm for medical education, and strong teaching skills.

  • Licensed or ability to obtain medical license and DEA in the State of Minnesota, and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges.

  • Ability to receive work authorization in the United States from the U.S. Citizenship andImmigration Services and maintain legal status according to the requirements of VISA.

Pay and Benefits:

This role is dually employed by University of Minnesota Physicians and the University of Minnesota. Total salary is market competitive and based on AAMC salary benchmarks. Clinical salary, aligned with clinical effort, is provided through M Physicians. The base salary range for the clinical effort of this position is $397,000 - $435,000 commensurate with experience, qualifications and FTE. The salary from the University is dependent upon the academic effort of the person hired.
