Job description

Description

The Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology/Oncology at the University of Virginia, seeks candidates for a clinical faculty position at the Assistant/Associate or Full Professor level, with subspecialty focus in lymphomas and Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) as a clinician/investigator. Clinical track, rank, and tenure status are dependent upon qualifications.

The successful candidate will strengthen the clinical and clinical research efforts in these disorders utilizing the excellent translational research opportunities and resources available at the University and UVA Comprehensive Cancer Center. Additionally, the incumbent will attend inpatient and outpatient services and participate in multidisciplinary team care and clinical research within the Cancer Center, for a growing number of patients with lymphoma and CLL. As an integral part of the educational mission, the incumbent will actively participate in the teaching of fellows, residents, and medical students. This faculty position is designed for physicians focused on a career of clinical investigation and the provision of outstanding clinical care including active participation in our educational mission.

Qualifications

Candidates must have an MD or equivalent and be board-certified or board-eligible in Medical Oncology and/or Hematology by the appointment start date.

Dual certification in Medical Oncology and Hematology is encouraged but not required. Board certification in Internal Medicine is required if not board certified in Medical Oncology and/or Hematology by the start date.

Evidence of expertise in the care of patients with lymphoma and CLL is required.

The successful candidate will pass a background check and pre-employment health/ drug screening.
