Weber Shandwick has an exciting opportunity for an Associate to join our team. This opportunity is perfect for a strategic,creativeand organizedindividual, whois a fast-learner and keen observer of cultural trends. Ideal candidates should be passionate about earned media, client service, andthe consumer media landscape.
As a crucial supporting role on client work, this individual will work closely with multiple cross-channel marketing and PR teams within the Detroit office andacross the U.S.toassistincampaigndevelopmentandexecution on behalf of our clients.We'relooking for an individual with the confidence to activelyparticipatein client and team projects, but also the motivation to own solo projects with an intuition of when to reach out for collaboration.
This is a hybrid position with the expectation that this person will work a minimum of three days a week from either the Detroit or Chicago office.
Job description:
Serves as a key integrated team member in support of strategic earned media campaigns, including developing media targets, storyanglesand outreach approaches, in collaboration with and support from senior media relations team members.
Generates story ideas and drafts media materials (e.g., media listsandpitches),conducts outreach, performs influencer research and manages reporter/influencer relationships and media opportunities to land coverage.
Supports campaign and program development by conducting relevant research and contributing creative ideas in planning meetings and team brainstorms.
Maintains a keen interest in current newsandculturaltrends; proactively shares insights with teams and clients to inform plans,strategiesand activations.
Understandingclients' business, industry and competitive landscape to help shape activations and provide thoughtful recommendations.
Assistteam with monitoring coverage, developingcoverage reports,andcompilingcampaignclient updates.
Requirements:
1-3 years of professional experience in an agency or similar setting
Strongcommunication/presentation skills; verbal and written
Strong attention to detail and project management skills
Ability to multi-task effectively and work within tight deadlineswhile supporting multiple projects
Strongteamplayer and problem solver
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
