Job description

Range Operator

Range Operator - Full Time

Pay Rate - $19 hourly

Monitors the daily range schedule. Ensures ranges are entered Hot and Cold utilizing the Brains Computer Software. Communicates Range Hot and Cold status with Range Master via hand-held radios. Assists with the preparation of Daily Range Control Brief as directed by Range Master. Conducts Range Check-in and Check-out tasks in accordance with Range Control Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Coordinates daily range usage

· Ensures Daily Range Control Brief is accurate and submitted in a timely manner.

· Ensures ranges are checked out/in in accordance with Range Control SOP’s

· Reports range deficiencies to Range Master

· Reports Range conflicts to Tharos Scheduling for resolution

· Other duties as assigned

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position will be primarily based at the Upper Marlboro, MD location.

This position works with supervision from the Compliance and Facility Manager.

This position is expected to work up to forty (40) per week.

The function of this position requires responsive and friendly customer service skills accompanied with professionalism and patience.

Exposure to noise levels in excess of 85 decibels for more than 4 to 6 hours per day can be expected at the ranges. Trainers are to use protective ear and eye wear that minimizes exposure to any damage to hearing or sight.

Must be proficient in the English language.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

1. To stand and sit for several hours.

2. May have to lift up to twenty (20) pounds and carry over some distance. Carts and dollies will be provided.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a Full-Time position providing support to clients in other time zone. This position is expected to be available from at least 8 am EST to 5 pm EST for client service (Times may vary). The position does provide for flexibility in scheduling other hours as workloads demand.

The position may require availability on nights, weekends and holidays for projects.

Travel

Travel will be less than 10%.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

· U.S. Citizenship required, and candidates must be at least 21 years of age

· Experience as a Range Safety Officer preferred, or equivalent combination of training and related experience in U.S. Military or Law Enforcement required

· Proficiency with MS Office required

· Effective oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organization

· Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities to completion

· Problem solving skills with an analytical thought process

· Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment

WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE

Possess or be able to obtain
