Summary

Chenega & NASA are seeking a Mountain View, CA-based Training and Development Officer responsible for delivering specialized NASA Protective Services and Security training, developing law enforcement personnel, and supporting armorer functions while ensuring the highest standards of safety, security, and operational readiness.


Responsibilities
  • Deliver and facilitate specialized security, safety, law enforcement, and protective services training for NASA contractors and civil servants.
  • Utilize approved lesson plans, training materials, and instructional methods to support the NASA Protective Services/Security Training Program.
  • Serve as an on-site armorer and maintain compliance with applicable security, weapons, and training standards.
  • Support operational training requirements by working flexible schedules, & maintaining training documentation
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma and extensive law enforcement/security experience, including 10 years of civilian law enforcement experience or 5 years as a NASA Special Police Officer (SPO).
  • Completion of required law enforcement, NASA Protective Services, and emergency management training/certifications, including NBTS Instructor, POST Academy, CPR/AED, and FEMA ICS/IS courses.
  • Ability to qualify and maintain certification with firearms and special weapons, meet NASA physical certification requirements, and obtain Glock Basic Armorer certification within 180 days of hire.
  • Valid driver's license, ability to pass background requirements, and no disqualifying criminal history, felony convictions, or illegal drug use.
  • Successfully pass background and drug screening

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Range Master certification.
  • Certified Firearms Instructor certification.
