Job description

At McHur Care, we believe community-based mental health care is purpose-driven work. If you’re energized by helping youth and families build stability in real time at home, at school, and in the community, this contract role may be a strong fit.

We are seeking a Qualified Mental Health Professional to deliver Medicaid-aligned behavioral health services to children, adolescents, and families in the Waco, Texas area. Spanish-speaking candidates are strongly preferred, as this role may support Spanish-speaking clients and families across the Waco service area.

This is a 1099 independent contractor engagement, not employment.

ROLE SUMMARY - INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR

You will provide direct QMHP services in the field while meeting payer, documentation, and compliance requirements. You will maintain independent clinical judgment within the scope of QMHP service delivery standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Conduct bio-psychosocial assessments, as assigned or appropriate.

Deliver skills training, crisis intervention, medication training support, and case management, as authorized.

Develop and update crisis and safety plans as clinically appropriate.

Coordinate with caregivers, care partners, and treatment team members as needed.

Provide face-to-face services across approved settings, including homes, schools, and community sites.

Complete timely and accurate documentation required for billing and compliance, including progress notes, service records, and related documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field.

QMHP or QMHP-CS eligible.

Experience supporting children, youth, and/or families preferred.

Spanish-speaking or bilingual English/Spanish candidates are strongly preferred.

Comfortable working independently in a field-based service model.

Strong written documentation skills and ability to meet required timelines.

Professional, empathetic communication with clients, families, and community partners.

COMPENSATION AND CONTRACT STRUCTURE

Per Contractor Agreement / Compensation Plan

Base Service Fee - Billable Work: $25 to $28 per approved billable hour. Services must be properly documented, coded, and eligible for submission and approval.

Monthly Accelerator Enhancements: Additional $4 to $9 per billable hour based on total monthly billable hours under a tiered accelerator model.

Mileage Support Payment - Monthly, If Offered: Flat monthly support may be available based on verified eligible business miles. Normal commuting is excluded. Tiers range from $100 to $800 per month depending on eligible mileage.

Ramp-Up Minimum Pay - Optional / Time-Limited: Up to 45 days of ramp support may be available when eligibility conditions are met.

Other Incentives - If Applicable: Client Recruitment Bonus of $50 per new client enrolled with active insurance confirmation.

IMPORTANT CONTRACTOR NOTES

This is a 1099 independent contractor role. Benefits are not provided.

Non-billable administrative time, travel time, and meetings are not separately compensated unless expressly provided under the plan or a signed written statement of work.

Participation in trainings or meetings may be offered. Participation is generally voluntary unless otherwise stated.

PAY SCHEDULE - SEMI-MONTHLY

Work performed from the 1st through the 15th is paid on the 22nd.

Work performed from the 16th through the 31st is paid on the 7th.

SERVICE AREA AND PRACTICAL EXPECTATIONS

Primary coverage is Waco, Texas and surrounding communities.

Reliable transportation is required.

Field travel between approved service locations is expected.

Spanish-speaking ability is strongly preferred due to client and family communication needs in the service area.

Earnings are performance-driven based on billable output and documentation quality and timeliness under the accelerator model.
