Endoscopy Technician - Endoscopy Center
Holly Springs, NC | In-Office

Support safe, high-quality patient care in a fast-paced procedural environment.

Raleigh Medical Group is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Endoscopy Technician to support our Gastroenterology team. This role assists physicians and nursing staff during endoscopic procedures while ensuring endoscopy equipment is properly cleaned, disinfected, maintained, and prepared for patient care.

The Endoscopy Technician plays a key role in supporting patient safety, procedural efficiency, infection prevention, and exceptional patient experiences within the endoscopy center.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assists physicians and nursing staff during endoscopic, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures.
  • Prepares procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies for daily operations and scheduled procedures.
  • Cleans, disinfects, tests, and maintains endoscopes and related equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines, infection prevention standards, and organizational policies.
  • Performs room turnover and cleans stretchers and procedure areas between patients.
  • Stocks procedure rooms and monitors inventory levels of clinical supplies and equipment.
  • Assists with direct patient care activities as delegated by licensed clinical staff.
  • Obtains and documents patient information accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Maintains accurate scope logs, sterilization records, and other required documentation.
  • Participates in quality assurance, infection prevention, and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Adheres to OSHA safety guidelines, HIPAA requirements, and confidentiality policies.
  • Provides support and patient education reinforcement as directed by physicians and nursing staff.
  • Responds appropriately during emergency situations and assists clinical staff as needed.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Minimum one year of healthcare, medical office, procedural, or related experience
  • Experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems preferred
  • Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment

Preferred:

  • Previous endoscopy technician or procedural support experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of high-level disinfection and scope reprocessing preferred.
  • Gastroenterology or ambulatory procedural experience preferred

Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and reaching
  • Ability to reposition, transfer, and assist patients safely
  • Fine motor skills and visual acuity required
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 100 pounds with assistance as needed
