RALs, or Refund Anticipation Loans, are short-term loans offered to taxpayers in anticipation of their federal or state tax refund. These loans are typically provided by tax preparation companies or financial institutions and are repaid when the actual tax refund is received. While RALs can provide quick access to funds, they usually come with fees and interest that can significantly reduce the amount you receive. It's important to carefully review the terms and consider alternatives before applying for a RAL.
