Position Overview
Under minimal supervision, the Material Handler I is responsible for moving materials throughout the production facility in accordance with company policies and procedures. This role supports manufacturing by pulling, preparing, and staging materials in assigned work cells and staging areas; loading and unloading materials onto transports and trucks; and assisting with rigging using pallet jacks, forklifts, or other equipment. Responsibilities also include removing and disposing of packing materials, scrap, and other waste from manufacturing, storeroom, and receiving areas as needed.
What your day-to-day will look like:
Inventory Control
  • Coordinate with Planner to support material readiness
  • Prepare, kit, and distribute materials for production
  • Maintain inventory accuracy, bin replenishment, and location tracking
Shipping
  • Prepare and ship customer orders, RMAs, and production materials
  • Coordinate outbound shipments with Quality and Planner
  • Ensure accurate documentation, staging, and carrier scheduling
  • Manage shipping and work cell supply needs
Receiving
  • Receive, inspect, and stock incoming materials
  • Verify accuracy, label inventory, and manage non-conforming materials
  • Support production shortages and inventory control activities
  • Maintain safety, organization, and 5S standards
  • Assist with cycle counts, MRP transactions, and continuous flow practices
To thrive in this role, you have:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 2-3 years of material handling experience preferred
  • Ability to frequent lift 10-50 pounds
  • Understanding of material flow and storage practices
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Ability to use MRP systems for inventory tracking
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Ability to work overtime as required
