Job description

Senior Accountant

Position Details

Classification: Exempt

Job Type: Full-Time (On-Site)

Location: Renton, WA

Salary Range: $80,000 - $99,500 annually

Position Summary

The primary role of the Senior Accountant is to review, balance, post and reconcile corporate financial data into the general ledger accounts to ensure accurate balances are reflected in the financial statements. Perform routine general ledger account analysis and make adjusting entries. Research and posts account corrections in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal account definitions. Initiates, develops, and implements process improvements. 

The incumbent works free from daily oversight, regularly exercising independent discretion and significant decision making in regard to completing duties. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, balance and post corporate financial data from multiple systems into the General Ledger
  • Analyze and reconcile complex Balance Sheet accounts, identifying and resolving discrepant items timely and accurately.
  • Prepare, reconcile, and post accounting transactions.
  • Research questions about financial information, and post correcting entries in accordance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies.
  • Work on complex accounting concepts, including foreign exchange, intercompany, ASC 842, ASC 350, ASC 360, and other items as they arise.
  • Collaborate with acquired entities on their business processes to ensure consistency with internal accounting policies.
  • Review Profit and Loss statements for each entity and operating location with an emphasis on regional ownership (e.g. Mexico).
  • Oversee fixed asset accounting with emphasis on internally developed software.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of supporting schedules and disclosures for use in Form 10-Qs and Form 10-K.
  • Serves as backup support to other team members.
  • Recommend and help develop and implement workflow improvements.
  • Identify issues and bring inconsistencies and problems to the attention of management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • CPA is preferred, public accounting experience preferred.
  • 4+ years accounting experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Working knowledge of SAP and/or Blackline is preferred.
  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in verbal and written form.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possess strong quantitative and analytical skills with attention to details, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrates deep understanding of how to apply U.S. GAAP to General Ledger accounting.
  • Execute effectively by using resources efficiently, meeting deadlines, and keeping others informed of work plans and progress toward goals.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, spreadsheets, emails and instructions. 
  • Proficiency with Alteryx and AI a plus.

Language Skills

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak clearly and effectively to both internal and external contacts.

Work Schedule

  • Full time schedule of minimum 8 hours per day with flexibility to complete all required job duties and responsibilities. 

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Climate-controlled office with a typically moderate noise level.
  • Regular physical activity: walking, sitting, handling materials, keyboarding, and reaching.  
  • Visual demands include close, distance, and peripheral vision, with the ability to adjust focus.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $80,000 - $99,500 annually

Starting pay is based on multiple factors, including but not limited to education, work experience, skills, and job-related knowledge. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.

Additional Compensation: Eligible for bonus and stock options
