PNC Field is a 10,000-seat professional baseball stadium featuring a full-size ballpark, multiple concession areas, premium seating, suites, and event spaces. The venue hosts not only baseball games but is proud to host a range of other events throughout the year.
THE ROLE
As a Concessions Cook for the RailRiders, you play a key role in preparing and cooking menu items at concession stands during home games and events. You are responsible for producing fresh, high-quality food consistently and efficiently, following recipes, portioning guidelines, and health and safety standards to ensure guests receive delicious items served at proper temperatures.
You will work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment where maintaining cleanliness, stocking workstations, operating grills/fryers, and complying with sanitization protocols are essential. Your work directly contributes to a positive fan experience by helping deliver timely food service that meets quality expectations and enhances overall enjoyment of the ballpark.
Success in this role also requires good communication and a friendly attitude when interacting with fellow staff - all aimed at supporting excellent customer service and making every fan's visit memorable.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare, cook, and assemble concession menu items according to established recipes, portion standards, and quality guidelines during games and events.
  • Help with pre-event food prep and stand setup (stocking supplies, getting equipment ready).
  • Operate grills, fryers, ovens, steamers, and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure food is cooked to proper temperatures and held safely until served.
  • Clean and maintain cooking equipment and concession areas to meet health and sanitation standards.
  • Assist with training other concessions staff as needed.
  • Follow instructions from the Concessions Manager/Lead to execute daily and event-specific menus.
  • Comply with all local health department rules, food safety regulations, and stadium policies.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary food prep, cooking, and storage areas throughout the shift.
  • Properly store, label, and rotate food products to prevent spoilage or waste.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment, utensils, and workstations as assigned.
  • Communicate with cashiers to fulfill guest orders promptly and accurately.
  • Replenish food items to concession stands in a timely manner during peak service.
  • Assist other kitchen and concessions staff to ensure smooth operations, especially during peak service.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • Previous cooking experience preferred.

  • Ability to prepare and cook concession-style foods (grilled items, fried foods, hot dogs, burgers, etc.) quickly and consistently.
  • Knowledge of basic cooking techniques, portion control, and food presentation.
  • Proficiency in operating kitchen equipment such as grills, fryers, ovens, warmers, and steam tables
  • Ability to follow standardized recipes and preparation procedures
  • Ability to remain calm and adaptable in fast-paced, dynamic, or stressful situations.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including heat, sun exposure, and other outdoor conditions.
